We had recommended Lee at LMB Fencing on the Plumsteadshire blog. After the storm in Jan, he did a really good job replacing our fences (which blew away in the high winds), and all at a reasonable price for the quality of work and fences we chose. Best to use the mobile number, 07719 973906, rather than the landline, to reach him. He is coming back to pull up a large paved concrete area and lay a lawn in our back garden. We'll let you know how that goes and whether we recommend him for that as well.

Just reporting back. Lee from LMB fencing finished our garden on Saturday, and after a long and hard job we are pleased to say that we are happy with the results. The concrete area (30ft x 16ft) we needed removed was much thicker than expected (we were told by previous owners it was 3-4 inches thick, and was instead nearly a foot thick across about half the area), so the effort of breaking and hauling out the concrete (up lots of steps and through the house!) was more difficul than expect, and no easy task for anyone. As a result, the job took longer than planned - whole job took two weeks (approx 10 working days), rather than one week as originally estimated. However, Lee and the colleagues he brought in to help with hauling out the (3 skips full of) concrete where diligent and hard working, once they got going. It would have been better if the crew of 3 were here from the word go, so that's a lesson learnt for next time (luckily for us there won't be one!). After 8 days of chopping and hauling concrete, Lee raked over what turned out to be lovely rich soil, on top of which he laid a new lawn, cutting out the desired shape for our borders. He also put up a small palisade gate at the entrance to that area of the garden. He does have an eye for detail and is exacting in measurements, doing things properly and with patience. He also seems like a decent bloke. So we would recommend him to others, with the advice to simply be prepared, as with other kinds of jobs and workmen, that it might take a bit longer than anticipated because of inevitable delays for one reason or another. Hope this helps, and good luck.
