Hello!
I've just moved in to an area just off Winn Common, and I've decided I'm bored of being couped up (as has my housemate), and we'd like to get WiFi on Winn (and possible Plumstead) Common.
The only trouble is, we're a bit too far back to provide such a thing - we're down in a dip from Winn Common, so it's hard to get an antenna in line of sight of it.
I don't support anyone else would like to have free WiFi access on the common, would they?
I'm sure we could sort something out if a few of us want it.

I'd be up for helping out on this one, but I'm down the dip in the Slade and the antenna might have to be very high!

If it has to be a big ugly thing, then no thanks.

If it has to be a big ugly thing, then no thanks. Why not? It wouldn't look out of place around the Albert!

It is actually quite easy and I believe there used to be a gov subsidy for community projects. You would need line of sight, but a throw of a good few hundred meters should be achievable for a very limited outlay.

NO WAY. NO WAY. NO WAY. NO WAY. If you need to surf the net, STAY HOME. If you want to enjoy the common, then enjoy the common without the blasted computer. Also, there are studies happening about the possible health implications. We have to deal with enough pollutants to our enjoyment of outdoors (noise, litter, car exhaust, chavs!). We do not need tossers with their laptops on the common. Also, if you have any sense you'd realise that it would probably get knicked sharpish around here. You're not in Richmond Park you know. NO WI FI. NO WAY!
